(There are no knaves where there are no fools)
A wolf once fell into a deep, dry well. He tried his best to jump out, but the wolf could not get out of the well.
Just then, a very thirsty goat passed by and heard the wolf. " Is there plenty of water in the well?" the goat called out.
" Yes!" answered the wolf.
The goat was so thirsty that he did not think twice and jumped into the well. And so, he found out the wolf had lied to him.
" Now, we are both prisoners in this well," said the wolf.
" We will die of hunger and thirst here!" the goat exclaimed.
Then the wolf told the goat, " If you want to get out of here, let us help each other. I have thought of a way we can do it".
" How?"
The wolf mounted the goat's back and promised, " I will be the first to get out, and then I will pull you out".
The wolf got out of the well with the goat's help. But when his turn came to help the goat, the wolf laughed and said, " There is no lying wolf where there is no goat willing to be fooled."
The goat sadly remained trapped in the deep well.
